Imagine This and That
...is an exploration into politics, economics, physics, biology, the U.S. health care system, corpocracy, insurrections, fascism, and whatever else may strike my fancy, even liver and onions with mashed potatoes and gravy, which, by the way, was one of my favorite foods when I was growing up.
Since I am not an expert in any of these fields, send me your email comments about my postings, and I will try to respond to them as best I can. In that way, perhaps we will both be able to reimagine things this way and that. And I may add your comment and my response to the original article so other people may gain another perspective that may help them to reimagine things differently, too.
This will also be an exploration of my own photographic imaginings and reimaginings. Although I am not a professional photographer, I do enjoy taking pictures now and then—and I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I have in taking them, and then reimagining them in fascinating ways.
I created the two photographic imaginings that open this page, Street Scene with Hot Air Balloon, and Two Cows Grazing, for a photo manipulation contest held by a well-known photography magazine over 10 years ago. The magazine provided two groupings of about 15 photos each. As a contestant, my job was to combine at least 5 of the pictures in each group into single images using any technique I could imagine. Although I imagined and I reimagined, I did not win.
